As moms, we know our kids need stimulation. (We know we need stimulation!) We never want any mom to feel isolated so we offer several types of events and activities throughout the year.
For Moms
While these events are generally "mom-oriented," your children are welcome to come and play with the other kids!
Java Mamas: morning coffee at a Mom's home
New Moms Brunch: brunch to meet and greet new members at a Mom's home
Happy Hour: mid-afternoon snacks and drinks at a Mom's home
Moms' Night Out: monthly Moms-Only event at local restaurants or a Mom's home
Recipe Exchange: yearly exchange of favorite dinner recipes
Cookie Exchange: yearly exchange of cookies for the holiday table
Monthly Newsletters
For Kids
As an organization that supports moms, we must offer kid-oriented events! We offer outings to various kid-centric hot spots such as:
- Children's Museum
- Seattle Aquarium
- Pacific Science Center
- Woodland Park Zoo
- Any local park during the summer!
Playgroups!
We offer playgroups! Playgroups are divided by age and we offer groups until kids start first grade. (It generally becomes impossible to schedule playgroups for kids in school all day!) Groups are typically limited to eight or nine moms (siblings are always welcome at playgroups). While each playgroup sets its own schedule and activities, moms usually take turns hosting the entire playgroup in the winter and meet at local parks in the summer.
New groups are created whenever an existing group becomes too large or new members join and request one (or enough new babies are born!).
Our current playgroups include:
- Happy Hippos: kids born in 2006 - 2007
- Terrific Tigers: kids born in 2006 - 2008
- Playful Pandas: kids born in 2008
- Lively Leopards: kids born in 2009
- Cuddly Cubs: newborns to age 1
Please contact us for more information about joining a playgroup or creating a new one. We are always adding new members, and thus playgroups for the youngest babies.
For Others
We know we can't do it alone so we take time to help out others. Several times a year we do service projects to help those less fortunate. A few of the organizations we've helped in the past include:
Sample Newsletters and Calendars
Once a month we e-mail a chatty newsletter and event calendar to all our registered members. Take a look at a few of our older calendars for some of our events. We include introductions to new moms, birthday wishes for our moms, announcements and descriptions of our events, announcements of neighborhood events (such as the opening of the Farmers' Market and free movies in the park), and any news related to the "business" of running our organization. We also offer space for moms to advertise their home-based businesses.
